Program Description

Event Details

In 2023, after 17 years in the cheese industry, Jessie Dowling left her creamery to race the famed Mongol Derby. Riding over 1,000 km long across the high Mongolian steppe, it is the longest and toughest horse race in the world. The journey transformed her life, leading her to sell her cheese business and pursue her true calling of connecting people with horses.

Today, Jessie owns and operates Iron Ledge Farm in Whitefield, Maine. Her presentation will recount her time training for the Derby, running the race, and her experiences staying with native Mongolian families along the way.

Horse and adventure lovers of all ages are welcome to this event.
