Event Details

Novelist and Aroostook County-native Cathie Pelletier will discuss her latest book: Northeaster: A Story of Courage and Survival in the Blizzard of 1952 (Click here to request a copy). A nonfiction re-creation of the accounts of survivors and victims of the storm that killed 6 people in Maine, Northeaster is a meticulously researched page-turner. The 2016 film, The Finest Hours, presents only a small part of the harrowing story of those two days in New England.

Cathie Pelletier has written over a dozen novels, including Candles on Bay Street (which was made into a film in 2006), The One-Way Bridge, and A Year After Henry. Her second middle grade novel, The Mystery Traveler at Lake Fortune, was just released this year. Northeaster is her third nonfiction title.

After her talk, there will be time for questions, as well as the opportunity to buy several of her books and have them signed.
